The German parcel deliverer Hermes buys a controlling interest in the logistics startup Liefery, which provides the same day deliveries for webshops in large German cities.

At the end of last week Hermes, one of Germany's national players, announced that it has increased its stake from 28.5 percent to more than fifty percent. This concerns a capital injection in cash with which Liefery can accelerate its growth plans.

Liefery promises its customers, webshops, that the consumer can receive their order within ninety minutes after the order. That is what the two-year-old company does with bicycle and car couriers. It works for Zalando and Amazon.de among other things.
