January 28 is the European Day of Privacy. This day was created to ask for attention for privacy. After the introduction of the AVG last May 25, attention to privacy is no shortage. In the boardroom, at the ICT department, during the consultation of the marketers and on a birthday with the family: all kinds of places where privacy is now being discussed.

During the conference we give a glimpse into the kitchen of where we are now. Groundbreaking research has been done, the Dutch Data Protection Authority has given more substance to its role and many organizations have done work to be compliant . Complying with the new legislation is one side of the privacy discussion. However, sustainable privacy protection requires more, including a cultural change and active development of privacy by design .

Brenno de Winter will give his vision on the current status. A critical, humorous look at what is now playing and will play. Sophie in 't Veld can tell you about the European world from her experiences in Brussels. We also want to give you a look in the kitchen of a collaboration in which Tijmen Schep takes you into the world of icons and how you can make privacy work for you.

In a panel discussion we will present a number of experts (from different sectors) and debate with the public. We will review a number of current topics.

During the conference, the Dutch Privacy Awards (www.privacyawards.nl) will be presented. Almost 20 participants signed up this year, with a large number of high-quality entries. The nominated submitters will provide pitches so that you, as a present, can also get enthusiastic about their privacy solutions.
