Thesis store officially comes out this week, but has been online for several weeks. The site is an initiative of Liones Publishing Services (LPS) and o3, a party that links knowledge of students to industry. The organization of the annual thesis prize is in the hands of o3.

Although there are already sites where students can write their thesis, Taeke Kuyvenhoven of LPS thinks that Thesis Shop meets a need. "Several dozen orders were made in the short trial period." He thinks the site meets multiple needs. "In this way, companies can obtain knowledge and information, students receive attention for their thesis and receive compensation for every thesis that is ordered."

The buyer of a thesis receives the CV of the student who did the research. According to Kuyvenhoven, one student was invited to visit a company during the trial period.

A seven or higher
Thesis store is meant for theses of students who have graduated from a university or higher professional education. The 'recruitment' of theses takes place via the channels of o3, which among other things co-operates with the site studenten.net. The rule is that a thesis that 'goes on sale' must have received at least a seven. LPS, which specializes in research as a publisher, also looks at the registered theses. "We can judge a thesis very quickly."

LPS, which receives 15 euros per sold thesis, does not see Thesis Shop primarily as a site she wants to earn from by selling theses. "We started with the site, in order to gain access to interesting research." As a publisher, LPS focuses on the tracing, analysis and 'custom publishing' of relevant market and policy research. The publisher therefore ensures a relevant 'translation' of studies. Kuyvenhoven: "We are looking for interesting scripting studies for our clients."
