The online web advertising service SurfJeRijk.nl has stopped its activities. A serious lack of advertisers has turned the site around. The 20, 000 participants now get the chance to continue at Happypoint. Unfamiliarity with the advertiser is, according to the initiator Bryan Chin, the reason why there were no more applications. At the end Surfjerijk.nl counted three more advertisers.

"Advertisers do not know exactly how online advertising works, which was unknown to them, and apparently too adventurous, " says Chin. The name Surfjerijk was perhaps a bit unfortunate, says Chin. "It's a nice name for the consumer, perhaps not for an advertiser." The site had been offline since August 25, and was an initiative of the Utrecht office INBC

Participants of Surfjerijk can convert their accumulated savings into the digital currency of the savings system of happypoint.com. The 20, 000 users have received an e-mail from Surfjerijk explaining the state of affairs and making an offer to switch to happypoint.com.

The users were given the opportunity to accumulate savings in cash by visiting companies' websites and answering questions about products and / or services. Surfjerijk wanted to conclude contracts with companies. These companies would have to pay for visiting their website and for transferring specific product information to a predefined target group. We did not manage to conclude sufficient contracts with companies.
