"The idea is that Voordeeljager becomes a kind of showcase for great products. We will at least offer a Mac mini and a robot vacuum cleaner in the first auctions. They are sold in a simple auction, "explains Ten Houten.
Product suppliers in turn have the opportunity to see how much interest consumers have with their new products and what a 'fair' price is for a particular product. "In the future we will also be auctioning products that are not yet for sale in the store, " says ten Houten.
To bring Benefit Hunter to the attention of the consumer, Ten Houten will, besides short-term advertising on the Retecool weblog, also try to attract consumers by purchasing Google Adwords. He plans to cautiously launch the site and gradually develop the new service.
Advantage hunter is reminiscent of American Woot.com that actually works with the same mechanism as Voordeeljager. An item is auctioned every day on Woot.com and can be delivered until 12 noon.

Ten Houten wants to earn money primarily from the producers and not so much from the customers who buy the products. "For producers it is a new opportunity to do product placement and for consumers it is a way to get in touch with cool products and pay less for them than in the store."
Ten Houten thinks with Voordeeljager to be free of costs and to start earning money. According to him, this is partly because the investment costs have been low.
