Together with a new collection of hockey sticks, the Dutch hockey brand Cyclone introduces an augmented reality app. "In the weeks leading up to the new sport season, sports specialists are often inundated with customers. Not all customers can be contacted directly. With the interactive hockey stick, we offer sports specialists a tool that provides all customers with the right information, "says Wil Hoebergen, founder of Cyclone.
The Cyclone app uses the latest techniques in the field of augmented reality. Augmented reality is also the technique behind the popular Pokémon Go. For the development of this app Cyclone switched on the Eindhoven office Dutch Rose Media. Natasja Paulssen, founder of Dutch Rose Media: "With augmented reality we can add cool extras to the world around us. The only thing you need to experience these extras is a smartphone or tablet ". To get all hockey enthusiasts to get acquainted with augmented reality, free hockey postcards are available in sport specialist shops that are enriched with augmented reality
When the hockey season starts, other content will appear on the hockey sticks of Cyclone. Think, for example, of top hockey players who present cool tricks, or a trainer who gives tips & tricks. In this way, Cyclone provides its customers throughout the season with fun extras that encourage them to become a better hockey player.
The Cyclone App can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or the App Store
From August 26, 2016, the interactive hockey sticks will be in the sports specialty stores. For an overview of the sport specialist shops that offer Cyclone hockey sticks see the list in the app.
